Just wanted to
thank you for the assistance and practical
advice regarding Smartwave 3500. It certainly
doesn't need fins after today's run around the
Tay. After taking it gently for 10mins to warm
up we got it on the plane and boy does it
move. Obviously compared to my displacement
boat the Smartwave is fast and agile. It also
feels like a bigger boat than a 3.5m.
Easy to launch -
we didn't even use the car to tow the trailer
up the slip when coming back in at low tide!!
It's just so versatile especially for the west
coast of Scotland where I tend to launch for
accessing remote areas.
After today I
also like the way the boat drains if you get
spray inside or when washing at the end of the
day - really well thought out boat with rod
holders.
As the afternoon
progressed the wind got up against the tide so
a good test which the wee boat handled well
once you got the nose up - no spray in the
boat either. What also surprised me was how
good the Smartwave was on the drift.
Quite a few folk were asking
about the boat down at the ferry - so I told
them who to contact
