Mac 570 Centre Console

Global Offshore International based in Texas, USA, came to us looking for a tough versatile boat for use on their large construction barge. The company are constructing an oil pipe line in Ghana, West Africa and the initial plan was to ship via 20ft container. A change in their schedule meant we had 4 weeks to build the boat and get it to Africa. The only chance we had of getting it there on time was.. air freight!

Dear Julian, 

I am still in the US and will not be in Ghana until Dec. 27, 2005 (We have had encountered a few delays in getting the Temporary Import for our vessel into Nigeria).  I spoke with the barge this morning, and the boat was received and has been put into service.  The barge said the boat was packaged well and very easy to assemble (thanks for the detailed instructions).  They seem to be very satisfied with the way that the boat is set up, and the barge crew can often be a hard group to please.

Things are going well here in West Africa.  We have installed the start-up / initiation cable for the 28” pipeline offshore Nigeria and will go back to install the pipeline on March 1, 2006.  The project was a success thanks to the Mac 570, the boat worked and performed beautifully.  We used it for diving operations, personnel transfers, and to tow ropes from our work vessel to the platform (approximately 800’).  I have some pictures and will forward them to you as soon as I have a chance to download them.  Thanks again for supplying us with a top quality product and excellent service.

The boat worked great and made several task go much easier than any of us could have expected.  We even used the boat to save a sea turtle from a stray fishing net.  Man, was that was one happy turtle.  He owes his life to the Mac 570.
